[StockSSDragRacing] NHRA help..

 

First, thanks for all the pics of the various AMXs. Even found some in the backgrounds which really helps. Please keep them coming.

In order to race these cars the factories had to produce 50 of them. In this case, AMC made 52 plus the prototype. I know the records exist at the NHRA to show which cars were built, the dealer they went to, and the owner. I think I was close to getting them once in the early 80s when someone put a stop to it because of privacy reasons. I already have all the VINs from AMC documents, and have figured out most of the drivers/owners/dealers of the others. can anyone here be any help in getting the list of cars? I understand I may not get the VINs, but I have them and have listed them on the website with my research. I also know I may not get the owners names, but I have most of them as well. But what about the dealerships they were sold through? This shouldn't be a privacy issue, should it? I was also told the Division reps used to have this info for tech inspections. I am pretty sure I have all the NHRA tech stuff posted, as well as the letter homologating them. I have listed 42 of the cars and know of at least 5 others that were real cars but I don't know which ones they were or where they are now. Still have some leads to go, though.

I have been chasing down this info since the late 70s. I have had the pleasure to talk to most of the owners past and present over the years. I would be happy to reimburse anyone for their effort in helping me, and would even fly out to the NHRA if it would help.

Thanks for anything you could do for me. (And as soon as i get it I will post it on the website free for everyone else to see, unless that would be a problem. Most of the documents I posted are shown for the first time ever to the AMC group).
