I thought maybe it was one of the supposedly seven L-79s that were built.  I did see that it was a disc brake car but I've never seen one with the power brake booster.  Anyway, someone spent way too much money as far as I'm concerned.  You are right about the Corvettes too.  I was surprised that they didn't bring anymore than they did.

I didn't get that either! It was absolutely A1, but it was only a 275HP
since they didn't make an L79 in 1967. Must have been a couple of guys that
really wanted it. It was nice but I don't think it was worth THAT kind of
money! There were some actually pretty decent deals last night when you
take into consideration what it would cost to build or restore some of that
stuff. There were several big block Corvettes that went under $50,000. Not
cheap, but try buying all the stuff to fix one up. Ken A

Ken,
What was the deal wuth the 67 Nova SS that sold for $137K? I tuned in as it
was rolling off the stage. Don't know what would have caused it to bring
that kind of money.

Many of you all know about the Barrett Jackson Auction we are having here
in
the Valley of the Sun...err RAIN! Well there is another , smaller classic
car auction that goes on just down the street. It is called the
Russo-Steel
auction. Well they are making allot of news this morning and last night.
If
you were watching the Barrett Jackson last night on speed. You may have
heard about the storm that was coming through and they wanted everyone to
stay inside. Well at that time we had a tornado warning going on and the
Russo Steel Auction got NAILED!! The big tents that all of the cars, many
of
them convertibles with the tops down. Was blown off and big tent polls
went
flying into all of these classic cars. You should see the carnage. Well
because of the danger. The police got everyone out, and would not let car
owners back in. Not even the one with those convertibles to put there tops
up. They Might let the car owners in later today when the safty issues are
taken care off.

Well anyways, what I am getting to is that I just went on there site. I
saw
that Bob Reed has two of his BO29s there. One being the Sox & Martin car.
Here is the auction house's web site http://www.russoandsteele.com/

I wonder if those cars are OK. I know that there is a couple of guys here
that know Bob. It looks like with Bob trying to save money in the high
auction fees, He picked the wrong action to sell at. Here is a link to the
local news on that auction. You have got to see this Video.
http://www.azfamily.com/video/featured-videos/Russo-Steel-car-owners-still-not-allowed-in-to-assess-storm-damage-82364787.html

We do not see weather like this very much here in Phoenix. I feel very
lucky that I only have 5 leaks in my house. The fricken homes in this town
are not built for this kind of rain. We have some Cheap home builders
here.
