After selling the Firebird after 2000 Indy I had saved the Toronado to race. But I had to let the good D.F.I. computer go with the car, so I bought one from Dan White racing in Warren,Mich and we ran the Toronado on his Chassis Dyno. Went to the Class Nationals in Bryon,Ill and went 4 rds in 100' heat. Won class at 1-2 IHRA races won class at NHRA; 2001 Chicago- Indy 2002 Gators- Indy 2003 Columbus Springnts-Bristol- We went to the div 3 race at Columbus at the end of year, and that was our last race, as my Knee was very bad and in the spring of 04 had it replaced.[didn' We sold the trailer & Toronado to Mike Carr in 06 With the Delta 8 we won class at NHRA 13 times & the Toronado 20. We couldn't have don't it without, J.D., Bob Kert,Les Drill, Bill Owen, Russ Abrams, Comp Cams, Hydromatic, Buick engine factory in Flint ,Mich, Air lift.& so many more who helped.THANK YOU so much ! |
