Fred and I were not close enough for me to know anything about the color. I just remember it being a light blue.
Just remembered Fred's nickname that he did not particularly care for, Wingnut. A bunch of us were in Alex's garage one Saturday night BS'ing and Fred had to leave early. He had a crew cut and his ears protruded just enough that, from behind, he looked like a wingnut. Somebody called him that and it stuck. Poor guy hated it!

Tom,Great pictures. Any idea what the exact color is on the wagon? I might be able to manage that paint scheme! Fred Suloff had a sedan which ran the same class as the Hampp's Witchcraft and also had an Alex Jarrell engine. In April, 1970 we had gone to Suffolk and both the cars had run over the existing MPH record with the Witchcraft running the fastest. Fred came over to Charlie Sr. and said "Mr. Hampp, I've been busting my dick for a record, please let me have it." I don't remember Fred getting the record so maybe that is why he built a wagon to run another class.
Tim Bishop won class at a few national events with his '68 Z-28 over the years. He was always just a little behind guys like Kent Hanley, Dwight Southerland, etc. It was not until around 2001 that he started having Bub Whitaker build the engines that he really started to run. Just before selling the car, Tim set the record at Delmar @ 10.98. The 302 was making about 430 HP.
