Yea, are you restoring it back to original, or just making it your own for racing? do you have more chassis pics?

| Steve, you've got a real interesting piece of racing history there. Thanks for the pics. Wayne.

Mine is #3 of 4, originally built for Max Naylor. Herb said it was the "sister" car to Johnny's. -Steve On Wed, Dec 2, 2009 at 11:24 AM, Matt Conte <lookoutmcp@msn. com> wrote: Steve, What car do you have? Very cool. When I bought mine, it had already been converted to the strut front end and had the rear shock arrangement modified. I still believe that 1 of the 2 "missing" cars may still have the A-arm setup. It's just a matter of finding them to see. I attached a couple pics of the original McCandless roll bar before it was redone in my car. -Steve On Wed, Dec 2, 2009 at 10:35 AM, Matt Conte <lookoutmcp@msn. com> wrote: If I could get good, detailed photos of the chassis and suspension. I can duplicate it in scale. I have very good fabricating skills plus I have built and worked on real race cars for so many years AND I was a chassis and suspension specialist. It all helps me quite a bit in my model building. Decals are a bitch for me because I just cannot afford the best technology to do them. I can. Just ask Wayne. But I cannot do them as nice as I would like. Matt

There's plenty of photos to make the decals. This was car #2 from Herb's shop. -Steve On Tue, Dec 1, 2009 at 9:54 PM, Matt Conte <lookoutmcp@msn. com> wrote: Thanks Wayne. This was before trans. brakes were used and the tree still had 5 ambers. Herb McCandless built this car for Johnny and Johnny built his own engines. Labbous won several Div.2 championships in Super Gas. He was runner-up at the Gators in 1983 and won the Summer Nationals in 1985. Wayne. |
