2000 - 2006 Sentra OFFICIAL DEALER/TECH SERVICE/SHOP MANUAL $5. CD
disk or Download, - AVOID CHEAP SCAMMY imitation coming from China,
etc. for generic cars, there's only ONE such manual - issued by Nissan
for Sentra's B15 platform ["B15" = years 2000 thru 2006] to their own
Tech's when they repair your car. Why pay when often you can fix
yourself if you had access to Nissan's proprietary Shop Manual,
whether you're a Sentra owner or Automotive Tech/Mechanic?? Nissan is
STILL ASKING $210 for CDdisk ($295 for paperbook, which presumably
nobody would use) - check at www.nissan-techinfo.com -->
Publications-->ServiceManuals-->Sentra-->select year (between 2000 &
2006), check that price! I am changing multiple Sentras (fleet) @this
company, not likely to use Service Manuals again & realize in
Recession price should be rock-bottom.
*** Nissan Publication No. SM4E-1B15U0 [on CDdisk] ***

convenience):
========================================================
OFFICIAL (also known as FACTORY/SERVICE/SHOP) Manual given by Nissan
to Dealers/Techs, from Nissan Publications dept. (www.nissan-
techinfo.com); on CDdisk (paperbook is a monster - 3,502 pages in 4
volumes, forget it).
Covers ALL B15-platform Sentras, i.e. from late year 2000 thru 2005
(don't know about 2006, but MOST LIKELY included). Besides USA,
Sentras were known in other countries as "Sunny", 'Bluebird",
"Pulsar", "200SX" but I don't guarantee this manual to cover such
variations, I only guarantee it for Sentra B15 platform (00-05 [06]).
Besides text, offers detailed diagrams/pictures/tables/computer
controls, etc. to disassemble/assemble, repair/test or anything - a
massive manual if printed. Priceless for technically-inclined people,
but not "easy reading" for car owners who hire others to fix their
stuff. So if you want Nissan's internal info this is what Technicians
must have, but if you only know how to change oil and wash cars this
manual might be "overkill" for you.
NOT a generic "automotive repair" disks sold by scamsters (I received
one of those - labeled 'Nissan Sentra", but containing generic junk),
NOT cheap Chiltons/Haynes books which are useful but not to the point
as to compare with this 3,502-page official Nissan Publication. Also
note: Haynes ENDED Sentras coverage by year 1999, there hasn't been a
new book from them for years staring 2000 and Haynes headquarters
responded to my email by stating book release date for 2000+ Sentras
has never been set, even if it comes out (most definitely never) it
will be another $15 basic repair reading.
P.S. If you wish, I can also throw in FREE owner's manual for 2004
Sentra (also on disk, probably same for 2001-2005), I KNOW it's a free
download from Nissan website but bundling it could save you time, also
quick reference (specs - all, specs - wheels detailed, other info I
researched on 2004 Sentra while I owned them, just to share info that
takes time to gather).

Hi,
About 2 weeks ago I had difficulties starting the car (2003 Nissan
Altima), and the "service engine soon" light turned on.
The Nissan dealer checked the car, and they got the P0340 code
(camshaft sensor)
I paid about $270, and the car worked fine for about 2 weeks, when I
got another similar problem.
Went to the dealer again, and now they seen now a different code
(P0355 - crankshaft sensor)
I had to pay again, since they say this is a totally different issue
etc, even the receipt says the same diagnostic/part number.
Wondering if these sensors issues should be / are covered by any
recall Nissan has.
Regards,
Petru

Many thanks for links!
So I'm not alone anymore...
But it looks I'm going to pay for this, even it is not my fault!
Shame on you Nissan!
I guess my next car won't be Nissan anymore.
And I'll share my experience/feelings with all my friends too!

Petru

It looks like you are in Germany or France according to your usenet
provider information. So, searching for a US forum may not help you
much. If it were me I would take any information on the recall and the
information about all of the other people that have had, and continue to
have, the problems with the sensors back to the dealer.
You can always make up a sign and picket the dealer like a fellow did
here in Texas on a Volkswagen paint problem some years back. <Grin> The
dealer called the police and tried to have him arrested. But, the man
was not on their property so the police couldn't arrest him for
anything. After three days of picketing, and having people stopping to
talk to him about what was wrong, (and calling the dealer saying they
wouldn't buy one of their cars), the dealer caved in and repainted his
car.

I actually live in US, NYC.
Hmmmm... I do not have time for picketing, but still I could use $600
for other purposes!
After reading more, I believe the dealer did the right thing.
In fact it looks like it is Nissan's issue.
I'm going to call their customer service on Monday (tried today but they
are closed).
Regards,
Petru
