[NASCAR-Group] Re: Okay, what would yours be?

I like this idea for the whole season.

I disagree. Starting position is a big part of the goal in
qualifying.

The rest of your points seem to me to say one thing that I've heard alot lately; 'NASCAR, butt out.' I wouldn't mind quite so much when they make changes if the rules weren't like taxes; always new ones, never any done away with. And they are going to have to give everybody more notice before actually making the changes.

I haven't had enough sleep to come up with a list. I do like the idea of having a road course included.

I heard a Mark Martin interview on the radio. I think it was after the first chase race. I thought his idea for the chase was interesting. It might not have originated with him, but he was the first one I heard it from. The idea was to give the chase drivers the points they would get in relation to the other chase drivers plus bonus points. The example he gave was Kasey Kahne in the first race. Instead of 38th place points he would get 12th. I've kept up with their standings this way (as well as pre-chase rules standing).
Following this idea they would be in this order now:
48,5,24,42,14,2,11,9,16,39,83,99
And the gap between the top two? 72 points.

Time to quit playing with my numbers and get some sleep.

Jerry
