Some beautiful country up in the northeastern states ! Maryland , vermont , Conneticut , and the Virginia states with the appalacia mountains . I was panning gold up there with a friend about ten years ago....not too bad , alot of fun.
And like Ronnie said " I dig those Georgia peaches "! Got to see my first MLB game in Atlanta ! I'm a Cubs and Braves fan and had a chance to watch them play against one another . up in the nose-bleed section and didn't cheer for one over the other but enjoyed the game all the same !
Haven't been to Utah but wouldn't mind trying a little prospecting up there. (I do some recreational gold panning and am a slight rock hound)
It's on a "would like to go there" list , along with AZ. , NEV. , OR. and Northern CA. ! Call it a wish list......I can only wish it , as I don't do much traveling nowaday's.
But I do like getting out doors and in the stream ! I pretty much stick to the tri-state area of IN. ,MI.,KY and OH ..... when I get a chance to go!
I pick up odd rocks , crystals and rough gems from the streams as I pan. Haven't done any "dredging" but I sometimes use my home-made sluice to get concentrates . Usually bring some back home with me to pan out back in a tub when I get the craving.
Had a friend down in N. Carolina that lived out in the sticks that would toss a couple shovel full of stuff (gravel,sand and stuff) from his stream into a pillowcase hang it up to dry and box it up as a b-day gift to me. Found quite a few garnets and amythest crystals from down there , along with some small nuggets and pickers of gold.
Wish he still lived there!
