Man, all I can say is this... if you notice, every 25 years or so, looks and fashion tend to repeat, like in the eighties, tab collar shirts, oxfords, the Go Go's and their 50's retro, Marylin Monroe was popular again... anyone that was alive when the Beatles were still a group and are alive now, such as myself, remembers this time QUITE WELL..
however...
did ya notice that we are in no threat whatsoever of this repetitive thing occurring for those of us that were teenaged in that time period..THANK GOD. I became so sick of pastels and Hot Pink, striped socks, poofy bangs, pink and yellow make up, and Valley Girl vernacular. I did not become sick of the music, as it defined my generation, however, I did not like a great deal of it either. New Wave.. yeah, I loved Devo, the Ramones, The Waitresses, The Dead Milkmen, Kraftwerk, the Dead Kennedys, The Clash..etc. But then there was Whitesnake, The Scorpions, Accept, W.A.S.P., Cinderella, ect. I have always felt like since I began my teen years in 1980, that I am a crossover of classic rock and new wave and current rock and alternative. So, I am not defined by any one particular genre, nor one particular generation of song, music, or lyric. Some lyric is timeless.. like this following passage:
'Summer's going fast, nights growing colder.
Children growing up, old friends growing older.
Freeze this moment a little bit longer.
Make each sensation a little bit stronger.'
I heard those when I was 17, and thought that Rush's "Time Stand Still" was a neat song. Now that I am 42, it is one of the most significant songs I have ever heard. Funny how things like that change in meaning when you go through the phases of life. When ELO released "Time" in 1981, there is a song on that albumn that I have loved since its release, called, "the way life's meant to be" the following lyrics in 1981 were futuristic at best, now they teem with the kind of angst that we all feel in the time of our middle ages..
"As I wonder around,
this wreck of a town,
Where people never speak aloud.
With its ivory towers,
and its plastic flowers,
I wish I was back in 1981."
anyway, I'm killing the point. I believe that you understand me then when I say, I love music, and I am not given to any one sound.

Wish I still had all mine , But I've alway's been a T-Shirt and Jeans person !! (Non-Proffesional) And I would wear them till they frazzled , and first the sleeves would wear out.... then they were sleeveless concert shirts !!
I still pick them up for the shows I see , but it's usually off ebay at a VERY reduced price ! Gotta wait awhile sometimes but they show up sooner or later.

I hadn't seen them in concert since I was in high school back in 80-81??? it was the Get Lucky Tour and they Rocked then. When we saw them come up on stage.....I was kinda aprehensive and thought it might be a "slowed down" version of thier hits ! GRANDPA'S CAN STILL ROCK !! They were damn good too.
> Past few years ( 4-6 yrs) I've seen some "once fantastic" groups that have went WAY SOUTH !!! I love Steve Miller Band but was totally disappointed with how much slower the songs were played and singing was off key , plus too much "variations" in the songs to even try to compare to what we hear played on the radio.
