I look at it this way, They're already spending millions and millions to race each year. that's where the most creative of the creative should get to show their skills, the smartest and the best of the best. the big money teams will always prevail, so, why not give them basic guidelines to follow, and tell them to have at it. If something not safe gets used, or something totally unreasonable, do something, but really, I think they should have a very basic set of safety rules and a few basic things so they can't get completely out of control, and allowed to play with shocks, springs, gearing, any suspension, and as long as it's safe and not so far out there as to be ridiculous, have fun. the crew chiefs got where they are because they're good and smart, I think they should show it, not be put in a box. If that means more blown engines, so be it they don't use the same one twice anyway. Fact is, if someone finds something new, eventually, word will get around the garage and everyone will do it, and I see at the local tracks, the smart crew chiefs can work with what they have, but if you let them get even a little creative, the drivers and crew chief combos really shine, and the local tracks I don't think, while they're tight, I don't think they're as tight as the cup series is right now, it's all safety and things to keep the cost down, beyond that, have at it. Sure the creative ones will still come through, but I really think the ones that enjoy creativity, might not want to get to that level anymore because those are the ones who flip when they're held back.

I don't like the COT cars either. The head honchos get too technical for Talledega and Daytona, and all it causes is a bunch of wrecks.

Maybe ARCA needs to step up their broadcasting efforts. I'd much
rather watch that. I've seen some of the best racing lately in that
series.
