Yes. compared to the A/SR, the colt was a relative flop. The LA engines were not very successful in comp or MP in the '70s, as they are not suited to small ci builds due to the relatively tall deck.

Just got done talking with Francis. He said when he built the Roadster, he had an injection setup, and a carb setup. He went to the track and made half a dozen passes with the injectors, then changed it over to carbs and made another half dozen passes. He said every run with the carbs was faster than  the injection setup, and the 2-4 setup became permanent.
Just for the record I asked about the order of the cars he drove. After the Flintstone Flyer he went to C/D, then the A/SR, then the Colt, which he said was a mistake. Then went back to dragsters for good: C/D, then B/D, then finally A/D.
He has email, and I just forwarded the 2 photos to him. If Todd has any more photos of Francis, I'll see that he gets them.

Bob, Current P/S Bike rider Joe DeSantis drove the Sam Brown Dodge A/SR in 1974, I think DeSantis & Crider is painted on the hood scoop. The entry lists that are in the programs I have from the 1973 and 1974 NHRA Springnationals list Crider as the driver in 73' and DeSantis as the driver in 74'. Tom

Isn't that Francis Crider? I can't quite make it out. I notice the second photo is a different version of the car, and different names on the cowl.
