My friend has related the story of driving his Mopar as the tow car for the Virginian at York in 1970. Not sure how he got this honor, he and his brother and their wives were there as spectators. He's always said it was the greatest race he has ever attended because of towing the Virginian, being able to roam the pits at will and get lots of freebies, and because of the neighbors he had at the motel. In the room next to he and his wife was Jess Tyree and his crew. He said they were some of the nicest, and craziest racers he'd ever met.
He's never been able to find the photos from then, until now, and he gave them to me today. Anyways, not a lot of pics to show, but one good one, and a few shots from the stands showing his Mopar towing the Virginian around.
