Just took a look at the photos, the trans looks to be a '70 (second digit is a 0, bolt-on shift arms) close ratio M-21.

the groove info is correct as far as I know, but the spline info is not. Early M-22s had fewer splines on the input shaft, not more, think the later ('69-'70) had the same # of splines as a M-21, but not sure about that.

Bruce I would venture to say it's a M21 close ratio(2.20 low gear) . I
have an M21 intermediate (2.52) laying on my garage floor and it has two
circles on the input shaft. I was always told close ratios have one circle
and intermidiates have two. I also think that the M22 ("rock crusher") has
more splines on the input shaft. Wonder what the switch is on the shift
lever is for? Seems like an odd place for a neutral safety switch! Pretty
valuable find. Ken A
