how does one determine the exact date of warranty expiration
of 2009 nissan vehicle with under 36000 miles? this would be
purchased used, from a non-dealer source who does not have the
answer.

The factory warranty ends exactly 3 years from the in-service-date
(date of original purchase)

Example: If the 2009 Nissan was originally purchased on 01/02/2009 the
warranty ends 01/02/2012
** NOTE: If the 09 was purchased say 09/09/2008 the warranty would end
09/09/2011

The next time you get service work or an oil change ask the Service
Manager what is the "In-Service-Date".

You could also try 1-800-NISSAN-1.
