Back when we raced there in the mid 60's to mid 70's people and developers kept building closer and closer to the track.
Much like they did over next to Charlotte Motor Speedway/Zmax dragway. After they built within seeing distance of the racetrack they started complaining about all the noise. The differance between the two tracks was Bruton Smith had an endless supply of money to fight them with. The city of charlotte kept annexing closer to the track as well.
I think Tom Ferrell saw the writing on the wall and sold out and moved to Florida. Does anyone on here know where Tom is now?

Shuffletown dragway closed down quite a few years ago. Diddnt they build a church a few miles down from the track and the preacher and a few others starting complaining about it and made them close it down? I'm thinking this was what happened?
