i've had that once or twice before too Tom...the free antivir I use always beeped, showed the virus, and quarrantined them too...this time it was instant STOP warning from the windows xp firewall...

Sounds like a Trojan embedded in a jpg. I was lucky a few weeks ago when my anti-virus caught one and put it in quarantine.
