you're right JC, it was legal to run a Holley in formula stock in AHRA...good recall...it was hard to get by the knafel cars for sure...you had to win class to run the eliminator back then too...here's an old original shot of Kaase's main engine man Ronnie Baker's shiny new CJ Fairlane Cobra in F2 E/SA, from 1969...

They ran it a few times at 42 in F/2A which means the holley might have come from then. If I remember right they didn't have good luck in that class cause Knafel was always there.
