J,
Yep, right about the tail lights, the 67 we can see looking by the car side.
I have a 67 chevelle and a 68 camaro, the camaro is much smaller and for sure lighter, the chevelle is a full frame car and the camaro has only a simple front subframe.
But for sure both are sooooooooooooooo coooooooooooooooollllll that is just imossible to choose just one.
In the pic is quite clear the difference when compared to the other pic I sent before.

Yeah, I just googled some curb weights, the Chevelle does seem to be a little heavier but their were some heavy Camaros built. I was repeating what I used to hear in bench racing sessions. However the Chevelles made good race cars because of their body on frame construction, 4 link and coil springs.

66 - I am pretty sure 67 had a wrap around tail light. 396/375 was potent and I don't think the 66-67 Chevelles weighed that much - less than a Camaro?

One car I've been looking out for info on for years was at Indy in 1970 when that picture was taken. Robert Steinhauer from Detroit in a '66 Chevy in SSD. Since there were no Vettes in SS in 1970, I think it must be a 396 Chevelle. NHRA had factored the 396/375 through the roof and in 1970, '66 Chevelles actually did race in SSD against the Hurst AMX's, hemi Cudas and copo Camaros as goofy as that seems. Anyone have any insight into this possibly being a different model of Chevy? Or anyone actually remember what Mr Steinhauer was driving? Mike
