The Nikkei [sub] says that Nissan is bringing back the Datsun brand as the badge for its low-cost offerings in emerging markets. The Nikkei is talking about cars "with a price tag of around 5,000 dollars." The Nikkei makes this announcement without quoting sources. We are unable to get any comments on that story. Not [...]

I just changed the motor oil and replaced the oil filter in our 2011
Nissan Altima 2.5 S and took pictures of the process. I created a
quick guide to help other owners who'd like to do this procedure
themselves.

The process is the same for any fourth generation (2007, 2008, 2009,
2010, 2011 & 2012) Nissan Altima equipped with the 2.5 liter I4 QR25DE
engine.

Here's the page - http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/2007-2012-Nissan-Altima-2-5-S-I4-Engine-Oil-Change-Guide/

I hope someone finds it to be useful.

Cheers,
Paul

Replacing the front brake pads on an Altima isn't that difficult of a
DIY job and only requires a few common tools. You can save a ton of
money by doing this procedure yourself, just be sure to torque all the
bolts to the proper specifications.

The front pads can last anywhere from 30 to over 75k miles depending
on how you drive and your climate. For new pads, I'd recommend the
Wearever ceramic pads from Advance Auto Parts that cost about $46 for
a set.

I hope someone finds it to be useful.

That's all fine and good but you'll be doing it again if the front rotors
are not resurfaced.

Doing a "pad slap" is an unacceptable repair.

And you want people to donate money for poor advice on how not to do a front
brake job,good luck with that.
