And what a treatment it is: a 6.3-liter V12 biturbo with 800 hp (hence the name) that makes this car not only the most powerful, but, with a top speed of 370 km/h (231 mph), also the fastest four-seater cabriolet in the world. But in 2011 the luxury division of Toyota looks bound to lose the top spot to both BMW and Mercedes-Benz and be relegated to third place. The earthquake and Tsunami that hit Japan in March and disrupted production is one of the reasons, as Lexus manufactures all bar one of its models (the RX) in its homeland. McLaren and Red Bull Clash Over Throttle Regulations Posted: 09 Jul 2011 06:25 PM PDT Ever since the Spanish Grand Prix, FIA has investigated the matter of some teams using exhaust gasses when the driver is off the throttle to improve the downforce of their cars. Eventually, FIA ruled that throttle opening when the accelerator is released would be limited to 10%. However, McLaren's Martin Whitmarsh disputed on Friday before the British GP the new regulation, claiming that Red Bull's Renault engine retains 50% of its power under a concession for reliability. British GP Practice: Massa Shines in the Rain Posted: 09 Jul 2011 06:24 PM PDT Ferrari's Felipe Massa set the quickest time in Friday's afternoon practice session of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, which takes place this weekend at Silverstone.
