NYPD Goes Green with 50 Chevrolet Volt Patrol Cars Posted: 17 Jul 2011 12:18 PM PDT Police officers in New York City will now be able to boast that they drive environmentally friendly cars and, as an added bonus, approach possible offenders silently. That's because 50 Chevrolet Volts have been added to the 40 Nissan Altima Hybrids of the NYPD fleet, as a part of Mayor Michael Bloomberg's PlaNYC project for lowering emissions and creating, in his own words, "a greener, greater New York City". Lamborghini Sues Las Vegas Business for Using its Raging Bull Logo Posted: 17 Jul 2011 08:57 AM PDT Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has unleashed a snarling pack of lawyers against the owners of an exotic car showroom, merchandise gallery and restaurant at the Palazzo resort in Las Vegas. Lamborghini's lawsuit claims that the companies that operate Dal Toro Exotic Car Showroom, Merchandise Gallery and Ristorante Italiano have been using the brand's raging bull logo. Read more » |
VW Begins Series Production of 2012 Beetle in Mexico Posted: 17 Jul 2011 07:58 AM PDT Volkswagen announced that it has commenced regular production of the 2012 Beetle at its factory in Puebla, Mexico, where its predecessor was also built. To mark the occasion, Germany's Federal Foreign Minister Dr. Guido Westerwelle, Mexican President Felipe Calderon, and Board Member for Production and Logistics at VW Passenger Cars Hubert Waltl visited the plant in Puebla.
