Wanted: Responsible Person to Drive World’s Top Supercars

How's this for a dream job? Britain's Repairacar is seeking a very special someone who can drive supercars from a customer's address to one of their repair shops and back. It's all very glamorous – the opportunity to drive supercars as diverse as Aston Martins, Ferraris and even the occasional Zonda or Bugatti Veyron – though it does include some taking of public transport.

A company spokesperson explains:"[The successful applicant] will also be expected to make their own way back to base from any corner of the UK and Europe – using public transport."

So what they're offering are a couple of hours on a bus or train in return for the chance to drive a selection of the world's greatest supercars? Who could say no? Well, Repairacar, for one. You see, they're not just looking for any Tom, Dick or Harry:

Abarth 500 Turned into a 230HP Mid-Engined RWD Track Toy

Italian aftermarket specialist Aznom has teamed up with Lucarelli-Monza to transform the Abarth 500 into a mid-engined track beast. Named Motore Centrale R230, the car will be unveiled at the upcoming Top Marques Monaco show (April 14-17), alongside the Spada Codatronca, another project on which Aznom has worked.

The Alfa Romeo GT was a fairly successful small coupe built between 2003 and 2010. Its clean styling courtesy of the Bertone design house and its sweet handling led to sales of 80,832 units worldwide. But did you know that Bertone also conceived a convertible version of the car? In 2003, the Italian design house and coachbuilder built a one-off, four-seat soft-top version of the GT for Alfa Romeo, in order to convince them it was worth making.

BMW Updates Badass Z4 GT3 Racer for 2011

It's only been a year since BMW Motorsports launched the new Z4 GT3 racer in March of 2010, yet the Bavarian automaker has gone ahead and improved its GT customer sports car. BMW's motorsports division says goal of the latest modifications was primarily to improve aerodynamic efficiency in order to ensure the car's competitiveness in the GT3 classes.

Fiat Freemont Order Books Open, Prices Start from €25.700 in Italy

Fiat's rebadged Dodge Journey, the European market Fiat Freemont, can be ordered in Italy starting today. Available in two trim levels, Freemont and Urban, the crossover will retail from €25,700 ($37,000) for the base equipment package, with the Urban version to cost €27,200 ($39,170). Read more »


Toyota Reduces North American Production Due to Lack of Parts from Japan

The devastating consequences of the March 11 Japan earthquake and tsunami on the country's auto industry continue to unfold. Today, Toyota Motor Corp. announced that it will reduce its North American production because of the lack of parts. The Japanese auto giant said that over the next few weeks, its American vehicle plants will operate on a reduced schedule, with production suspended on April 15, 18, 21*, 22, and 25. The same goes for most of the company's North American engine and component plants that will follow a similar schedule.

Oops Video: Brand New 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 Limited Edition Rear-Ended by Ford F-150

If we didn't know better, we'd say that Ford is trying to wipe out the competition with its F-150 pickup truck, or as some may know it, the Ferd F-Teehthousand. The latest victim of the F-150 after the memorable stomping of a Ferrari F-150 is a brand new 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8, which judging by the bodykit, stripes, alloy wheels and badges, is the 392 limited edition with the 470-horsepower V8 Hemi.

The driver of the Dodge's muscle car was waiting for the light when a Ford F-150 decided to give the Challenger an unnecessary -and quite painful- rear-end makeover. Follow the break to watch the clip.

Jeep Compass Priced from £16,995 in UK, Sales to Start on April 15

The refreshed Jeep Compass SUV will go on sale in the UK on April 15 with prices ranging from £16,995 ($27,783) for the base model to £23,995 ($39,227). Available in 2WD versions as well as 4WD, the Compass is offered with a three-year or 60,000-mile warranty.

The impressive SLS AMG 'Gullwing' may have long replaced the venerable SLR McLaren in the Mercedes-Benz's ranks, but the tuning world is not about let go of the Stuttgart firm's previous supercar. Edo Competition has revealed a new take on the SLR McLaren called the Black Arrow.

Edo Karabegovic and his team over at Edo Competition started out with the SLR McLaren's body, which gains a stealthy looking flat black coating and an overdose of red livery combined with new black colored 21-inch alloy wheels with a red ring that are shod in high-performance sport tires. There's also new exhaust tailpipes and carbon trim.

BMW Group Smashes Monthly Sales Record in March with More than 165,000 Units

The BMW Group is on track to reach new records in 2011 with the company posting its strongest monthly sales ever in March. The Bavarian automaker delivered a total of 165,842 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brand vehicles in the past month, not only significantly beating the figure for March 2010 (141,717 units / +17%) but also the previous sales high of 152,721 vehicles recorded in December 2007. March sales rose in Europe by 7.8% to 93,540 vehicles, in Asia by a whopping 52% to 35,048 units, as well as in the Americas by 18.6% to 32,020 vehicles.
