Brand New Chrysler Group Cars Driven at Warp Speed out of Transporter Train…

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 04:12 PM PDT

While we are no strangers to offbeat incidents involving new cars and transporters, we'll admit that we've never seen anything like this – that is, if the video you're about to watch is original and has not been altered in any way as understandably, we can't be 100 per cent sure.

The clip appears to have been shot by someone standing on the top level of a double decker transporter train and it shows five allegedly brand new vehicles (all Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs, if we're not mistaken) shooting out of the deck at warp speed.

The surroundings suggest the train is located at a parking lot terminal. Follow the break to watch the video for yourself and tell us what you think in the comments area below.

Toyota Focuses Recovery Efforts on Prius Hybrid Family

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 03:44 PM PDT

The March 11 earthquake that shook Japan to its core had many collateral damages, one of which was vehicle manufacturing. For example, more than 650 of Toyota's suppliers suffered great damages and halted production, forcing the Japanese automaker to reconsider its strategy.

Two weeks later, its management had reached the conclusion that it should focus its worldwide resources mainly on one model line. "We were rapidly burning through cash, so in order to survive this we prioritized the cars our customers wanted most" explained head of production Atsushi Niimi.

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 02:18 PM PDT

One simple word at Lamborghini's invitation to the 64th Frankfurt Motor Show should have given us a clue about the kind of car the Sant' Agata manufacturer would unveil at this year's IAA. The key word was "racing", and that is exactly what Lamborghini will present, the most hardcore Gallardo ever built. And it doesn't get any more hardcore than a street-legal version of a racing car. IAA 2011: Seat's Sharp Looking IBL Concept Sedan

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 01:30 PM PDT

It may have an unsexy name, but Seat's latest creation, the IBL concept, is anything but lackluster when it comes to its styling.

The sharp looking study is a Ford Mondeo-sized sports saloon created to show off the latest evolution of Seat's design DNA, and while the Spanish brand says it does not pre-empt a specific model, its styling philosophy will be applied to the firm's future portfolio.

IAA 2011: Ford Introduces New Focus ST in Both Hatchback and Station Wagon Flavors

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 12:32 PM PDT

Almost a year after appearing at the 2010 Paris Motor Show in concept form, Ford has lifted the covers off the production version of its new global performance model, the Focus ST. If you remember the showcar's looks and specifications, there is nothing surprising about the production version of the five-door hatchback.

What comes as a surprise though is the introduction of a station wagon body style of the Focus ST. However, unlike the hatch that will be sold across the globe, the Focus ST Wagon will be offered exclusively in Europe - at least for now.

Both the Focus ST hatch and Wagon sport the same 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine delivering a maximum output of 250-horsepower and a peak torque of 360Nm (265.5 lb-ft), matched to a 6-speed manual transmission that delivers power to the front wheels only.

The new generation of the European market 2012 Honda Civic hatchback will make its world premiere tomorrow at the 64th International Auto Show in Frankfurt, but the Japanese company is giving us our first view of the car with the release of the official photographs.

The first thing you will notice about the 5-door Civic is of course its exterior styling. While Honda's designers kept the shape of the outgoing model intact, the devil is in the details, and whereas the previous Civic sported a futuristic styling with many creases and edges, its successor is frumpier with a lot more curves.

So today's announcement that the two parties have renewed their partnership, which started in 2007, for a further five years came to no surprise. Renault Sport will continue to supply V8 engines and KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) to Red Bull Racing until 2013, and the new 16-liter turbocharged units that rules mandate from 2014 until at least 2016.

Suzuki wants to Dissolve Partnership with Volkswagen, but the Germans Say ‘Nein’

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 06:20 AM PDT

In a move more or less anticipated after the recent publication of Volkswagen's internal review that accuses Suzuki of breaking a contract agreement between the two companies by purchasing diesel engines from Fiat, the Japanese carmaker said it will abort its alliance with the German group.

Suzuki's announcement comes almost two years after it forged a partnership with Volkswagen. The German had acquired a 19.9 per cent stake in Suzuki Motor Corp in December 2009 for 225 billion Yen (then, approx US$2.5 billion) while the Japanese automaker agreed to invest up to one half of the amount received from the German automaker into shares of Volkswagen.
