Watch Czech Police Slap a Wheel Clamp on a Bugatti Veyron 16.4

No one really likes to get their car booted, but if you're willing to park illegally, then you should also suffer the consequences, no matter what type of vehicle you drive.

And while we don't know how the owner of this two-tone Bugatti Veyron 164 will react once he returns back to his cherished possession, we do know that the Czech police officers seen in this video had no problem clamping the French supercar - even though the regular boot lock was no match for the Veyron's humongous rear tire.

Mercedes-Benz Dishes Out Official Details on the 2013 SL Roadster

After the first official photos of the all-new 2013 SL hit the web on Tuesday, it was only a matter of time before Mercedes-Benz itself disclosed all the juicy details about its new luxury roadster model, which will make its official world premiere at the Detroit Motor Show in January.

For starters, the new SL, code-named R321, is the first mass-production Mercedes car built almost entirely from aluminum, with the same material used for the multi-link front and rear suspensions. As a result, its weight has been reduced by up to 308 pounds (140 kg) compared to its predecessor.

Using aluminum has not only reduced weight, but also increased agility providing sportier handling characteristics.

Ron Paul Weighs in on NTSB's Proposed Ban of Cell Phones in Cars [Video]

We're not the only ones surprised by the U.S National Transportation Safety Board's [NTSB] call for a ban on all cellphone use - yes, that includes both talking and text messaging- by drivers.

The controversial federal proposal also caught the attention of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, who on Wednesday, called the NTSB's (doesn't the acronym sound like something Comedy Central would come up with?) recommendation "ridiculous."

Ford Introduces C-MAX Hybrids, Claims They Outperform Toyota's Prius and Prius V

Along with the Focus Electric, the Blue Oval also announced two more new models today, the C-MAX Hybrid and the C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid, which Ford claims will allow operation in all-electric mode at higher speeds than any other hybrid currently in production.

Ford is willing to compare its new cars, which will be launched in North America in 2012, with the competition and in particular, Toyota's Prius models.

Official: 2013 Cadillac ATS gets New 2.0-liter Turbo with 270HP, Plus 2.5L and 3.6L V6 engines [Video]

Cadillac is not…horsing around with its soon-to-be revealed 2013 ATS as the Detroit automaker will offer the compact sports saloon with a newly developed 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four producing an estimated 270-horsepower and 260 lb-ft. of torque (353 Nm) straight from launch.

The 2.0T is a different engine than the one used on the current Buick Regal GS, with the ATS being the first GM model to receive the force-fed powerplant.

"This engine is the perfect match for the new ATS, which will be a refined performance luxury sedan," said Don Butler, Cadillac vice president of Global Marketing. "The 2.0T has an exceptionally smooth and responsive power curve that will make the ATS nimble, quick and fun to drive."

Peek a Boo: Buick Shows First Teaser Photo of 2013 Encore Crossover

General Motors has just announced that its new Buick crossover model that will debut at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month will be named Encore, confirming previous speculations.

The company also published a cropped image of the 2013 Buick Encore giving us a glimpse of what's to come, with the promise to release more photos over the next few weeks.

Surprise, Surprise: Canada's Most Stolen Vehicle is the 2009 Toyota Venza, Pontiac Aztec Makes Top 10

Who would have ever guessed that car thieves in Canada have a thing for the Toyota Venza? Yet, the 2009 model year version of Toyota's crossover topped the Insurance Bureau of Canada's [IBC] top 10 most frequently stolen vehicles this year.

The 2009 Venza takes the crown from the 2000 Honda Civic SiR Coupe that was last year's number one stolen vehicle but dropped to third place in 2011, just below the 1999 Honda Civic SiR Coupe.

The Japanese carmaker's models prove to be very popular among Canadian thieves as the 1998 and 1999 Acura Integra Coupe also made the list taking the 9th and 10th spot respectively.

Fiat Group Signs Deal with Italian Union on Labor Pact

With Fiat shares losing 30% of their value in the first nine months of the year, the company's sales hitting a 20-year low point in Italy, its European market share shrinking from 8.2% to 7.3% and all of its domestic plants recording losses, CEO Sergio Marchionne has been pushing for an increase in productivity.

The workers' unions, though, have been resisting changes, threatening with strikes and legal action against the Italian automotive group. This, along with the Italian crisis and the fact that Chrysler is the one keeping the group afloat, has led analysts to predict that Fiat may go as far as to partially abandon its home market.

China Slaps New Duties on U.S.-Made Cars because it’s Damaging its Domestic Industry!

Another chapter in the tense relationship between the world's two biggest economies, those of the United States and China, has opened today with the announcement by Chinese authorities of new duties on U.S.-made cars that are imported into the country.

Reuters reported that the Commerce ministry of China said on its website that the measure, which imposes "anti-dumping" and "countervailing" duties on cars with an engine capacity of 2.5-liters and above, is effective tomorrow, December 15, and will last for two years.

Aston Martin Attempts to Justify the Unjustified with Cygnet Video

A Toyota iQ with the 1.33-liter gasoline engine will set you back £12,775 (US$19,900 or €15,100) in Britain. A base Aston Martin Cygnet with the same drivetrain will cost you £31,000 (US$48,300 or €36,300) but can approach the £50,000 mark (!), depending on the edition.

If you do the math, you'll find that the entry-level Cygnet costs almost two and a half times more than the car it is based on, and which is available in North America under the Scion brand with prices starting from $15,995.

Skoda Builds 1.5 Millionth Octavia II After Seven Years

The good times continue to roll for the Volkswagen Group's Skoda division that has just built the 1,500,000th example of its second-generation Octavia model, with the aforementioned figure not including the production numbers of the structurally identical "MingRui" that is sold in China.

The anniversary vehicle is a white Octavia Combi 'GreenLine', which rolled off the assembly line at the Czech company's main plant in Mladá Boleslav on Wednesday.

2012 Fiat Panda: New Mega Gallery with 171 Photos

We have already seen the 2012 Fiat Panda at its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show this past September, but the Italian brand has just dropped a massive gallery comprising of more than 170 high-resolution photos, some of which are quite picturesque.

To refresh your memory, this is just the third iteration of the Panda in the model's 31-year history. It's predecessor were extremely successful and popular throughout Europe having sold some 6.5 million units over the past three decades.

Fiat hopes to build on the success of the Panda's predecessors with the new model, which is available exclusively with five doors and comes with a slightly larger body that measures 3,650 mm long, 1,640 mm wide and 1,550 mm tall for improved passenger space

BMW and General Motors to Cooperate on Fuel Cell Technology

With developing costs on new technologies rising and markets fluctuating in unforeseeable ways, cooperating with other manufacturers is the way to go.

BMW has been one of the first to mingle with its automotive counterparts. Since 2002, it has been cooperating with Europe's second largest group, PSA Peugeot Citroen.

Only a few days ago, it announced a new deal with Toyota, in which the Germans will provide the Japanese with their diesel engines in exchange for Toyota's vast expertise on hybrid technology.

Audi Introduces New Entry-Level Q7 with 204PS 3.0 TDI in Britain

The Audi Q7 has just become more attainable for buyers in the United Kingdom with the presentation of a new entry-level model powered by a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel engine that produces 204PS (201bhp) and 450Nm (31.6 lb-ft) of peak torque.

The 204PS 3.0 TDI model comes standard with Audi's quattro all-wheel drive system and an 8-speed tiptronic transmission and it complements the existing 3.0 TDI quattro 245PS version.
