It did leave with dog dishes. I cannot believe that they "restored" this car. When I saw it, it literally needed nothing.

Best of Show is nothing but a bunch of fluff buff hacks in my opinion. The 440, 4-speed Superbird listed on their site right now was owned by my Grandparents from 1971-1974. I have a folder full of info and pics on this car. The car ALWAYS had black "Plymouth" letters on it up until they purchased it, why they changed to white, I have no clue. They also say that they put new seat foams, covers, and carpet in. I identified the car by it's faded carpet when I saw it on their website. I then confirmed it with the fender tag. Also, about the seat covers, when I saw the car last in 2006 with a previous owner, it had the same two creases on the driver's side of the front seat that it has in the Best of Show pictures, even though they put "new" foams and covers.

Cant help but be more than a little skeptical about this car leaving the factory with dog-dishes on it...

Numbers-matching 1964 Dodge 440 4-speed Street Wedge 

This is the rarest high-performance Mopar on the planet. Only five Dodge 440s packed with the 426 Street Wedge and a 4-speed manual transmission were built in 1964. Of those five, this is the fifth one built, and the only known survivor.
It has only 2336 original miles and it is 100% numbers-matching throughout. Engine, transmission, differential, everything is original to this car. The interior is 95% original. And it's fully documented. We have the original window sticker, the original broadcast sheet, the original IBM punch card, a Govier Report, Chrysler Historical Society documents, as well as all the manuals.
The body has been 100% restored to better-than- new condition by Best of Show Automotive's own expert craftsmen. All the original trim and chrome has been refinished and restored to perfection.
The code M1R red cloth and vinyl interior is 95% original, and all we did was clean it up to like-new condition.
Underneath, this is a reference-quality car because all the important marks are still present. If the guy who tightened the bolts put a chalk mark next to them when he was done, it's still here. We cleaned the underside of this car with tiny brushes and about two hundred hours of infinite patience. But if it was under there when it rolled off the Hamtramck assembly line on May 13, 1964, it's there today.
The engine was rebuilt to stock specifications by Michael's Racing in Macedonia, Ohio, and detailed to showroom condition. Every component on it, from the air cleaner to the exhaust manifolds, is original to this particular car. Items like hoses and belts are the correct date-coded items. It has been awarded 1st place in the B Body Street class at the 2009 Mopar Nationals, scoring an amazing 240 out of 256 points..
