Yesterday, The Nikkei was all worked up about a takeover of Russia's largest automaker AvtoVaz by the Renault-Nissan Alliance. The Nikkei became so excited that it forgot simple logic. More on that here. The Nikkei had it on not so good authority that Nissan would soon buy 25 percent of the Russians, and together with [...]

The engine coolant temperature sensor can also cause this behaviour. It
may tell the engine it is cold and supply more fuel than needed,
flooding the engine. A friend had a corolla with this problem. He
would crank sometimes up to 10 minutes for the car to start. The ECT
was the culprit.
Fuel pump could be a problem but as someone else suggested, fuel filter
is a starting point.
Flooring the gas pedal will cut the fuel supply and will help start a
flooded engine.
Good luck,
AS

You have to have the pedal floored BEFORE turning on the key for that
to work. KB

Rack and pinions are not easy to fix. Some seals need to stretch to be
installed and they need to be reconditioned to original shape by using
heat. There are normally two hoses, the high and low pressure hoses.
The high pressure hose would probably be a good guess for a leak.
Good luck,

Nissan cars, not sure about the ones in Russia, have small relays on the
driver's door window control. The contacts wear out and cause the
problems you describe. You may be able to open the relay and get the
contacts work again.
Good luck
