It's been over a year since the PSA Peugeot-Citroën group announced an agreement with Mitsubishi to develop and adapt the Japanese company's ASX small crossover for its two brands in Europe and possibly other markets down the road.

Now, our spy photographers have captured the Peugeot-branded version of the Mitsubishi ASX, which is also called the Outlander Sport in the USA, and RVR in Japan and Canada, while testing in Europe. From what we understand and judging by the firm's current naming literature, the Peugeot model will carry the 2008 moniker.

Come on Irene…National Guard Trucks Plunge Into the Deep

Posted: 29 Aug 2011 05:09 PM PDT

The hurricane that battered the U.S. East Coast over the weekend and which we came to call Irene, didn't have the same impact on all regions as some were hit more severely than others.

As you can see from this video, Manville, a Borough in Somerset County, New Jersey, was pounded with such an amount of rain / floods that some roads like South Main Street turned into a river – literally.

The National Guard was on hand to offer their help and rescue stranded residents but in the case of theses soldiers in the LMTV military trucks, it was they that eventually needed some help to get out of the vehicles after being overtaken by the flood.

Acura continues the celebration of its 25th anniversary with the launch of a new version of the 2012 TSX sedan named Special Edition that is available exclusively with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine.

The Japanese company says the new model was "designed to evoke the fun-to-drive 4-cylinder Acuras of the past" (so does that mean it's current portfolio isn't "fun-to-drive"?), which in reality translates to a subtle aero package, added standard equipment and the availability of a manual gearbox.

Saab: Victor Muller is Hopeful of Quick Solution, but Reorganization is also on the table

Posted: 29 Aug 2011 12:32 PM PDT

For the second time in two years, Saab is perilously close to the edge of the cliff. But it may be rescued, once again, at the 11th hour: according to a company source close to negotiations with Chinese investors, Saab Automotive executives are "very optimistic" about raising funds this week.

Now haven't we've heard that before? Only this time, Saab Chairman Victor Muller told Automotive News that he is seriously considering reorganizing the company to protect it from its creditors. And this comes just three days after Saab's head of technical development, Mats Fagerhag, denied the Swedish public radio's report that the carmaker is seeking court protection.

Posted: 29 Aug 2011 12:00 PM PDT

It's a fact of life: us humans -or at least a certain percentage- have a love for speed, be that on the ground, in the air or on water. Ideally, this passion should be channeled in safe manner by either choosing it as a profession or enjoying it at a controlled environment – i.e. a racetrack or a drag strip when it comes to cars.

But in real life, some speed lovers prefer an another alternative, one that is not only unsafe for themselves, but for other road users as well, and it's called illegal street racing.

Marchionne Says Fiat “Will Meet its Targets for 2011 – For Now”

Posted: 29 Aug 2011 10:44 AM PDT

Watching your capitalization lose half of its value is never a good thing – even more so if your company is in the middle of a serious restructure. But that's exactly what has happened to Fiat S.p.A., and investors are worried, given the weak European market and the problems that the U.S. is currently facing.

However, the automaker's CEO, Sergio Marchionne, remains optimistic that, despite the stock's poor performance, profit and sales target for 2011 will be met: "We won't be reviewing 2011 targets until we close the third quarter. For now, we confirm the targets," he told reporters at Rimini last Wednesday.

Formula 1: Belgian GP Race Results

Posted: 29 Aug 2011 10:11 AM PDT

Ferrari's Fernando Alonso summed up perfectly the outcome of the Belgian GP that took place yesterday at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in the Ardennes forest: "Red Bull had a pace advantage of one second of something like that today. And in the final part of the race maybe more, maybe 1.5 seconds. So when you have a car that is 1.5 seconds faster than the rest it's easy for you to stop one lap earlier or one lap later." 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Facelift Snagged without Camo

Posted: 29 Aug 2011 06:20 PM PDT

Earlier this month, we brought you some of the first spy shots of the facelifted 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe nabbed while doing the rounds on the Nürburgring racetrack. But as you'd expect, the prototype was all bagged up in black camouflage to cover the styling changes.

Now, a Gencoupe forum member posted a set of grainy cell phone pictures of the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe that appear to have been shot on a transportation ship. While we can't be absolutely certain, the photos do look real and the cosmetic changes are the same we pointed out in our spy story.

What's This? The Blues Brothers' Chevrolet Cruzemobile

Posted: 29 Aug 2011 06:00 AM PDT

Perhaps one of the most memorable movie quotes from all time came from The Blues Brothers when Elwood (Dan Aykroyd) turns to his brother Jake (played by the late John Belushi) and says, "It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses." Jake simply responds, "Hit it".

It's been more than 30 years since the music comedy film hit the big screen, but The Blues Brothers has achieved a cult status and still remains kick-ass to today.

So much that, in celebration of Chevrolet's 100th anniversary, the firm's British arm decided to pay tribute to the legacy of The Blues Brothers by crafting a special one-off model of its Cruze sedan named the "Cruzemobile" that echoes the look of the famous "Bluesmobile".
