Barely Used, 2012 Lexus LFA Looking for a New Home on eBay Posted: 06 Oct 2011 05:54 PM PDT Have you been eyeing the new Lexus LFA ever since it was first revealed to the world exactly two years ago but for whatever reasons, couldn't get a hold of one? We feel your deep pocket pain. But no need to worry, we just spotted one of the 500 cars produced listed for sale on eBay. This pure white example of Lexus' V10-powered supercar is located in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina and according to the owner; it has barely been used with only 66 miles (106 kilometers) on the odometer. At the time we wrote this article, seventeen people had placed a bid for the 2012 LFA, the highest being $169,300. Given that its MRSP is/was $375,000, it's not surprising that the reserve has "not yet been met". Read more » |
Rumors: 2013 Cadillac ATS Sedan to Receive New 2.0-liter Turbo Engine Posted: 06 Oct 2011 05:26 PM PDT For many years, American car buyers adhered to the popular slogan "there's no replacement for displacement", but consumer habits are changing and the auto industry is slowly moving away from large and thirsty engines to smaller but equally powerful turbocharged powerplants. And let's not start talking about safety... Read more » |
2012 Nissan 370Z gains Standard Oil Cooler, Base Manual Model Dropped from Roadster Range Posted: 06 Oct 2011 04:12 PM PDT Having entered the final quarter of 2011, automakers are ushering in their new model year lineups, though most of the times, there's nothing really "new" about the cars other than the different designations. That's more or less the case with the 2012 Nissan 370Z series. The only changes for the new model year concern the addition of an oil-cooler as standard on both body styles, while Nissan eliminated the base 370Z Roadster with the 6-speed manual, leaving the more expensive Touring model for those that want to manually change gears while enjoying the sun. 1955 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing Special Edition Abandoned in Santa Monica Garage for 40 Years! Posted: 06 Oct 2011 01:52 PM PDT The Mercedes 300SL Gullwing is most certainly one of the most coveted and valuable classics, and the inspiration behind the modern-day SLS AMG. In its time, it was considered as one of the best sports cars in the world. Thus, if you lived in the 1970s and your parents gave you a 1955 Gullwing as a graduation present, you'd probably cherish every moment behind its wheel. And that's what Tom Wellmer did in 1971 – until the transmission went haywire. Instead of taking it for service, Wellmer just left it in a Santa Monica garage – and it remained parked there for the next four decades! Read more » |

Today, Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter published an article claiming that another Chinese automaker, Geely Automobile, which bought Volvo from Ford in 2010, is interested in acquiring Saab as well. Batman's New Wheels: Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Captured During Filming Posted: 06 Oct 2011 10:09 AM PDT Despite what you might think, it's actually quite difficult to snag pictures or videos during filming of a big blockbuster like the next Batman flick called the "Dark Knight Rises", as studios hire people simply to obstruct the view of anyone trying to capture the moment on camera. Nevertheless, VW Vortex member VadGTi overcame these problems and was able to take a few good shots of Bruce Wayne's new rich-boy toy, the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, which replaces the Murcielago seen in the previous installments of the Dark Knight franchise. Romeo Ferraris Preparing Insane Fiat 500 Abarth with 300-Horses Posted: 06 Oct 2011 05:31 AM PDT Once upon a time, not too long ago, 300-horsepower was considered sports car territory. For example, in 1989, the BMW 850i Coupe came with a 300HP V12 under its long hood while the Ferrari 348's V8 also churned out 300HP. Heck, up until 2009, the Ford Mustang GT was powered by a 300HP V8. Nowadays, 300HP has become something like Five Dollar Foot-long subs with even the smallest of cars like the Fiat 500 reaching the magic output number with a little help from the tuning industry.
