Amazing Custom Built 1:4 Scale Peterbilt Radio Controlled Truck that can Haul a Real Car!

Some of you may remember a video of a 1:4 scale R/C model truck pulling a Nissan SUV that we showed you back in April. However, at the time, we didn't know anything about the build. As it turns out, there is so much more than meets the eye with this amazing remote-controlled lorry.

First of all, it isn't just another of those expensive toys you can buy online but a custom creation made by an Italian named Bordin Luca.

It all began when Luca saw a man driving a model truck on an online video. Being an avid fan of American trucks and especially the Peterbilt 359, Luca decided to build one for himself. And as so often happens in these stories, one thing lead to another and it became a larger than life project.

Mitsubishi President Confirms Next Lancer Evo with Hybrid Powertrain, May be Combined with a…Diesel!

Perhaps the Maya were right and the world will come to an end in December 2012. In which case we'll never get the chance to see what a Lancer Evolution hybrid-diesel looks like in 2015.

But let's take it from the beginning. The hybrid part of the story is not just another one of those crazy rumors that pop up on the net. In fact, it is as official as it gets since it comes from the mouth of Mitsubishi president, Osamu Masuko.

Masuko revealed to British magazine Autocar that the next generation of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo will ditch the regular 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit, which has become a mainstay of the 10 previous versions, in favor of a hybrid powertrain.

Ram Expands Range with New 1500 Mossy Oak Edition, and Power Wagon ST and Laramie Models

The Chrysler Group's Ram division presented three new pickup truck variants today, including the 2012 1500 Mossy Oak Edition and the Power Wagon ST and Laramie models.

Staring off with the 2012 Ram 1500 Mossy Oak , the special edition version is set to arrive in dealerships in December 2011 with pricing set at US$39,910, including $995 destination charge.

The limited-run model was created in cooperation with Mossy Oak, which is a camouflage brand. This explains the odd-looking Mossy Oak Breakup Infinity trim on the center console and door panel inserts that have the opposite effect of camouflage…

In plain English, it means state-of-the-art infotainment systems than enable cars to "see" ahead and "talk" to each other, warning the driver of possibly dangerous situations. After General Motors, BMW also jumps on the bandwagon of "connected" vehicles and infrastructure.

Ask any young person about LP records these days and most will probably look at you as if you just crawled out of a cave. But not these Dutch youngsters that came up with a cool idea – albeit a completely useless one in the age of electronics.

What they did is combine a bicycle with a record player. And how did they manage that, we hear you ask? By adapting the rear wheel of the bicycle in order to play LP records.

Formula 1: Loss-making Korean GP to Receive the Axe?

Just two years after entering the Formula 1 calendar, the future of the Korean Grand Prix looks bleak. The organizers are suffering heavy losses, most of which they attribute to the high fees paid to Bernie Ecclestone.

According to ESPN, this year's race that took place last weekend, cost around US$80 million– and the organizers lost US$56 million, which is very close to the fees paid to Ecclestone for the privilege to host a Grand Prix.

Diesel-Powered Chevrolet Cruze to be Built in Lordstown, on Sale in Early 2013

Following the confirmation on the development of a diesel-powered version of the well-selling Chevrolet Cruze sedan for the American market earlier this year, General Motors revealed today that the car will be built at its plant in Lordstown, Ohio, with sales to begin in early 2013.

GM spokesman Tom Mock told The Detroit News that the company will invest $5.5 million to upgrade the plant's body shop and general assembly line. The same factory also produces the gasoline variants of the Cruze, which has proved a big success for GM outselling everything in its segment including the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.

The festivities for the Chevrolet brand's 100th birthday on November 3 continue with a new 60-second spot titled "Then & Now". The advert fuses the past and the present by holding vintage pictures of numerous Chevrolet models over the same locations today

The automaker notes that the commercial "depicts how we remain connected to the iconic moments, locations, and Chevy vehicles as if those moments were with us right here, right now".

Volvo Takes Pride in Reducing its CO2 Emissions the Most Among European Manufacturers

According to the data collected from the European Federation for Transport and Environment for its annual analysis, the European car manufacturer that has managed the greatest reduction in average CO2 emissions across its range in 2010 is Volvo.

The study shows that last year, Europe's eight biggest automakers reduced their average CO2 emissions by 2 to 6 percent. Volvo, on the other hand, managed a 9 percent reduction topping the relative charts thanks to models such as the 99 g/km V50 DRIVe and the 119 g/km V70 DRIVe.

Subaru to Unveil New JDM Impreza Sport and G4 on November 30

The Japanese domestic market version of the latest generation Subaru Impreza will be revealed online on November 30 before making its first public outing at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show.

While Subaru has launched a teaser site in Japan, the automaker is not yet ready to release any detailed information and photos other than that the five-door hatchback will be named Sport and the four-door sedan, G4.

GM Sells More than 2 Million Vehicles in China for 2nd Year in a Row

General Motors has been the market leader in China for the past six years, selling cars under the Baojung, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Jiefang, Opel and Wuling brands.

On October 17, the Detroit maker it announced that it sold more than 2 million vehicles in the world's largest car market since January 1st. This is the second consecutive year that GM manages to top the 2 million mark in China, only this time it achieved it a little earlier than 2010, when it happened on November 4.

Ya Don't Say: New Dodge Viper Debut at…Rides and Smiles Rumor Debunked

We had no intention of reporting on the somewhat far-fetched rumor about the 2013 Dodge Viper making its world premiere during a…charity event called "Rides and Smiles" at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida, but since Mr. Matt Hardigree from Jalopnik took another stab at you know auto-what called a Dodge spokesperson to see what was going on, here we are.

And yes, as you may have already figured out, the Dodge PR said it ain't happening. For the record, the rumor surfaced in the form of a report that appeared on TopSpeed and which cited a page on SAMA (Southern Automotive Media Association) talking about the…2009 Rides N' Smiles event as the source.

Sleepers, Creepers: VW Beetle GTO - Yes, it's Another Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 Engine Swap

While looking for information on the Russian Fiat Coupe with the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 drivetrain the other day, we found this customized Volkswagen Beetle sporting the same 6g72 twin turbocharged V6 engine.

However, this time, the Japanese powerplant was mounted behind the front seats of the classic Beetle with power being directed to the rear wheels only through a modified version of the Mitsubishi coupe's gearbox

The VW 1302 GTO was built in Norway and it appears to be an ongoing project. You can get a taste of what it looks and sounds like in the videos below.

Mercedes-Benz to Produce an All-New Fifth Model at its U.S Plant in 2015

Daimler, the parent company of German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz, plans to invest US$350 million and create some 400 new jobs at its U.S. plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to build a brand-new, but as of yet, unnamed model.

Currently, Mercedes-Benz manufactures the M-, GL-, and R-Class SUVs in Tuscaloosa, while the German firm will also assemble the next generation of the C-Class series for the North American market beginning 2014.

Students get a Rare Tour of the McLaren Factory as Part of UK Government Initiative

Ford to Invade SEMA Show with New Focus and Fiesta Tunes

New Vietnamese Plant Begins Production of Mazda2

Mazda held a grand opening ceremony at Vietnam today to celebrate the beginning of local assembly of its Mazda2 model.

The new plant is located in the Nui Thanh district of Quang Nam province in central Vietnam and was constructed by Vina Mazda Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a 100-percent local car assembly and sales company with no capital ties to Mazda Motor Corporation.
